5 Months...

Today marks 6 days past the first day of spring and we are still looking at about a foot of snow or more in the woods of the North Central U.P.

The close to normal snowfall we received this year should lead to a good carryover of birds from last year. Save a cold snap early on, the birds had some insulation for most of the winter.

The first snowfall came in November...do the math on how long of a winter we have up here.

5 months...

But that winter gave us some time to build some more partnerships for the growth of the sport!

First and foremost, we added a Women's Grouse Hunting Clinic this year! I'm happy to announce we have two very knowledgeable and respected female dog trainers/breeders assisting - Sandra Misas-Williams and Camile Rice! There is currently 1 spot remaining for this event.

Next would be the Third Annual Bonasa Bonanza! This year we have once again expanded by adding more wholesome grouse seminars and we will be having Live Music by Adam Carpenter on Saturday evening. This is one event you do not want to miss as we gather many of the best mentors in the business to grow the sport!

Last but not least, our sold-out Grouse Hunting and Dog Handling Clinic, as well as our sold-out puppy programs and wild bird transition programs will keep us filming and providing you with tips and tricks throughout the summer of 2025.

Stay tuned for our weekly trivia and Uncle Grouse Live, which will resume this weekend.

And remember, if you are getting a puppy this spring...primum non nocere (first do no harm)!
